Youth Hostel Profiles:
Historic counties of Cumberland, Westmorland and Lancashire (Furness District).
These completed files are of hostels grouped into the historic counties of Cumberland (for example Keswick hostel), Westmorland (Windermere) and the Furness part of Lancashire (Hawkshead) – effectively, the Lake District.
These counties were represented regionally by YHA’s Lakeland region up to 1965, and Lakes region 1965-86.
