Hostels plural, Penzance and more… with holidays in mind.
Some favourites, including the hostel at Lelant which was a flower farm too, in John Martin’s magnificent profile for the youth hostels at the south west fingertip of England.

There have been four youth hostels in the Penzance and Land’s End area. Lelant Downs was the first, a small accommodation hostel operating up to the war.
Land’s End hostel opened on the brink of war, was requisitioned, but established again soon after hostilities. Hayle hostel was next, running from 1947 to the end of 1982. Penzance was the most recent acquisition, in 1949.
