A lovely break from writing and all things writing. I’ve been painting window frames, a long neglected and long overdue job. The weather’s been lovely, too hot at times for balancing on a ladder, but also some of the first cool days that hint of summer ending.
A trip to Bristol and another to London, and some long walks in the countryside around here, and lots of food from the garden on our plates: it really is a lovely time of year and just the best time to have a break.
Before I took off I managed to bag myself an author page on Goodreads, on the back of Richard Schirrmann, the man who invented youth hostels.
Otherwise, I put aside the book and all thoughts of writing. I let the list of jobs pile up and turned a blind eye to all the things I might have done. Now after nearly a month without touching the book, I am ready to go.
Exciting times are ahead!
